EDUCATOR – PART-TIME
Science Museum of Western Virginia seeks an energetic educator to plan, organize, implement and teach various educational outreach programs and floor programs for museum visitors. If teaching is your passion, but working inside the same four walls isn’t, then the Science Museum is the place for you! Applicant will be responsible for creating lesson plans and developing activities, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Education. Bachelor’s degree required with current Virginia Teaching Certificate and coursework in a science field(s). Previous experience in classroom and/or informal education, preferred. SUMMER CAMP EDUCATOR (FULL-TIME; SEASONAL)
Science Museum of Western Virginia seeks an enthusiastic, full-time, seasonal educator who can supervise, lead an assigned group of children, and teach educational programs in a museum-based summer camp. Candidate will be responsible for full-day care of children and presentation of scientific content and activities within camp. Bachelor’s degree required with coursework in a science field(s), along with previous work with elementary-aged children, especially in grades K through 2. Summer camp instruction preferred.
